Designs are generally understated, antique inspired, with a modern flair.
Whether it be engagement rings or wedding bands, wedding clients are left with a satisfying experience as we offer a high-touch collaboration process.
I am on my way to the west coast this morning for a wedding in California. But I didn’t want to miss a Featured Friday! So here’s to LEL Jewelry.
What is the inspiration for your business? How did you get started?
After graduating Rhode Island School of Design with a major in Jewelry, I worked at a high-end custom jewelry store for ten years. The most remarkable customers during my years there re-used vintage heirlooms from their loved ones to turn it into custom jewelry pieces. It was such fun and an honor to learn customers’ family stories. More importantly, being a part of bringing such innermost memories to life through jewelry gave me a very gratifying sense of accomplishment.
My passion for jewelry formed in high school, where visual art was a form of expression for me—-a shy teenager’s way of joyfully communicating to the world. An occasion that lit the fire under me for jewelry was when my grandmother passed away. Struggling to overcome the sadness of her loss, my focus gravitated to the diamond ring she left me. I reformed it into a flower pendant. It remains my favorite piece of jewelry to this day, because it reminds me of her warmth and kindness. My hope is to have my jewelry exude such emotions from each customer.
What is your best advice for a bride-to-be?
Not all wedding rings are the same. Make sure they are made well—not only in design, but also made with materials that reflect your lifestyle. Rings should be as unique as you are!
What characteristics does your ideal client carry?
My ideal client wants the best for their partners, by daring to be different. They don’t put weight into big name brands, but rather value the design collaboration process. Instead of a cookie-cutter ring, my clients would rather make sure it’s a unique piece that reveals their personality.
If you were a flower, what kind would you be and why?
I would be a peony. It looks delicate, yet complex. In full bloom by early Summer, it signals the arrival of the warm season. Fittingly, its meanings are romance, compassion and a happy marriage. It also happens to be when my birthday and wedding anniversary are.

I am Katy Murray. A believer, a wife and a red head.
I love adventure. Any adventure.
I love to travel. Anywhere.
I don't laugh out loud during movies, even when I find them funny (Ask my husband and close friends). I tend to plan, too often. I like routine. I try to see the good in every day. I'm learning to fully trust God and his plan for me. I dream, way too much. I LOVE socks, cute socks, fuzzy socks, warm socks, socks!
