Today, November 17, 2018 is Philip and I’s six-year wedding anniversary!
At times it feels like we’ve been together forever, and other times it feels like just yesterday when we said, “I do!”.
Marriage isn’t easy but it’s definitely worth it. All those cliché things you hear, they are pretty much true! This post is going to be a hybrid of bragging about how wonderful Philip is and sharing the lessons I’ve learned over the years of being married.
Philip is so entirely kind and loving. Because of him I’ve learned to be kinder and more understanding of those around me. I can be pretty hard around the edges, but Philip is helping soften me into the person Christ wants me to be.
Philip loves unconditionally. This is teaching me to love on people even if I don’t think they deserve it in that moment, even if they are driving me nuts, even if they hurt my feelings. They deserve love.
It’s amazing how learning about someone else can teach us so much about ourselves. I am thrilled to call Philip my husband. I proud of the people we are becoming, I am proud of the hurtles we have made it through and I am proud to say that I am ready for the next obstacles that come our way! Cheers to loving him for another six, ten, twenty years!
